Paola Delfin

Paola Delfín was born in Mexico City in 1989. She remembers from a very young age always having a pencil and paper to help her visualize her own world through drawing. She had training at several professional institutions, including the Academia de San Carlos, where she studied graphic design and painting.

Paola Delfín belongs to what is often termed the post-graffiti generation — artists who have inherited and evolved the rebellious spirit of street art, moving beyond traditional tagging towards complex compositions and diverse techniques. She is best known for her depictions of the female form, influenced primarily by illustration.

Her introduction to street art happened after realizing that the messages she was trying to convey would become trapped and misunderstood on a small surface. She found that using large wall space was a perfect way to express herself. Her murals are inspired by the stories of the people and the places she visits, and she tries to spend time on site before creating to understand the environment and represent what she sees through her perspective, being especially drawn to stories that have less visibility.

Her artistic footprint includes pieces adorning urban spaces in Mexico, Germany, China, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, Puerto Rico, Peru, Colombia, Cuba, and the United States.
