Agostino Lacurci · Geometric Stories on Berlin’s Walls

Born in 1986 in Foggia, Italy, Agostino Lacurci is an artist who lives and works in Rome. He began developing his talent on the walls of his hometown at a very young age. He later studied fine arts in Rome. Today, the artist successfully combines his passion for painting with his original medium — the wall.

Each of the artist’s works tells a story. Agostino Lacurci uses geometric forms to compose his murals, allowing different scenes to coexist within a single piece. Small brushes, large brushes, and rollers are his main allies for covering the surfaces he works on. His pieces are instantly recognizable by their bold lines and vivid colors.

Though not yet thirty at the time, the artist had already exhibited at major contemporary art fairs in Switzerland and in some of the most prestigious galleries.

Over the course of his travels, he has left his mark on walls in Spain, Russia, the United States, Brazil, Australia — and Germany.

In Berlin: “Two Landscapes”

You can admire his mural near Moritzplatz in Kreuzberg. The piece, “Two Landscapes,” was part of a large promotional campaign led by the Puglia region across Europe. To represent their region in Berlin, they called upon one of their most renowned native artists.

From the Street to the Gallery

In the gallery, the artist works with acrylic on canvas. He also produces series of drawings on paper and screenprints. His studio work retains the same geometric vocabulary and narrative richness that define his outdoor murals.
